In celebration of the outstanding contribution to world television by US program-makers and broadcasters, the 24th international Banff Television Festival will present a special Tribute to the USA as part of its week-long festivities, June 8 to 13, 2003. The focus of the tribute will be at a special evening celebration on Tuesday, June 10.

• James Burrows, respected U.S. television sitcom creator, writer, producer and director, whose credits include co- creating the hit series Cheers, and directing such successful sitcoms as Frasier, Will & Grace, Friends, 3rd Rock from the Sun, and Taxi.
